About Me

J. Scott Bicknell, MD, provides orthopedic surgery for patients who have osteoarthritis, degenerative joint disease and traumatic injuries. He is a partner at The Orthopaedic Clinic in Shreveport.

Specialty training in orthopedic trauma surgery took place at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Bicknell completed medical school, an internship and residency all at LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport School of Medicine.

A Louisiana native who graduated from Centenary College, Dr. Bicknell began his journey to understand the structure and substance of systems, along with the processes that act on them, with both a Bachelor of Science in geology and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. He went on to earn a Master of Science in geology from Texas A&M University and worked as a petroleum geologist. Dr. Bicknell’s understanding of structures moved from the earth and rocks to the human musculoskeletal system when he pursued medical education and specialized surgery.

Today Dr. Bicknell is a member of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Louisiana Orthopaedic Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Bicknell personally enjoys hunting, traveling and a very occasional game of golf.
