About Me

Victoria Everton, MD, FAAFP, is a board-certified family physician with extensive experience in wound care and hyperbaric medicine. Since 2012, she has specialized in the treatment of complex wounds and hyperbaric oxygen therapy at Willis Knighton Hyperbaric Medicine & Wound Care.

Everton cares for pediatric, adult and geriatric patients with a broad range of acute and chronic wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries, venous and arterial ulcers, nonhealing surgical wounds, radiation-related tissue injuries and other complex conditions. Her approach combines advanced wound-care therapies with careful attention to the underlying medical factors that affect healing. She works closely with specialists, primary care providers, and nursing, rehabilitation, home health and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Her interest in medicine began early and was strongly influenced by her family.  “My father and grandmother inspired me to choose medicine as my career,” she says. “My grandmother was a neonatal intensive care nurse, and my father worked in pharmacy.”

Everton calls Bossier City home. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia, in 1989, and received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, in 1993. She completed a transitional internship at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois and completed her residency training in family medicine at Offutt Air Force Base and the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Her career includes military experience, private practice, hospital-based practice and academic medicine. In her military career she practiced medicine at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, Lajes Air Base in the Azores, Portugal, and Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. She also served as a clinical assistant professor in the Family Medicine and Comprehensive Care Clinic at LSU Health Shreveport.

Her broad background in family medicine, military medicine, teaching, wound care and hyperbaric medicine gives her a comprehensive perspective when caring for patients with complex wounds. She is committed to identifying and addressing barriers to healing while helping patients understand their condition and participate actively in their treatment.

Everton is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP).
