About Me
Kenneth Paul Metoyer Jr., MD, specializes in family medicine. The New Orleans native treats a variety of conditions, including but not limited to hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipidemia at Willis Knighton Primary Care Ruston on Mississippi Avenue.
He was inspired to become a physician because of his compassion for others. “I’ve always wanted a career where I could make a difference by helping people,” he said. “Also, my aunt and uncle, who are both physicians, were a source of inspiration. I saw the joy and fulfillment that they derived from helping others.”
Dr. Metoyer is medical director of Caring Hands Hospice in West Monroe and PrimeSTAR Home Health in Monroe. Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Xavier University in New Orleans and a Doctor of Medicine degree at Howard University in Washington, D.C. He completed a preliminary surgery residency at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans and a family medicine residency (primary tract) at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.
He and his wife, Rochelle, have three children — Nyah, Austyn and Beau. He enjoys collecting watches, playing tennis and riding his motorcycle.
