About Me

Oner A. Khera, MD, practices orthopedic spine surgery and spine health at WK Spine Clinic in Shreveport. Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Khera’s focus is the conservative and surgical management of spine disorders. Among them are Level I trauma involving fractures of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spines; spinal stenosis; spinal tumors; spinal infections; scoliosis and other spinal deformities. His care philosophy is to meet with all patients and family members to discuss their issues with pain or mobility. The complex spine may be a solution through either surgical or nonsurgical treatments after nonsurgical options are investigated.

Dr. Khera’s extensive education and work at prestigious medical centers bring value to spine care in the Shreveport-Bossier community. Following his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh, he continued his studies of science at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Dr. Khera went on to earn his medical degree at The George Washington University School of Medicine, also in Washington, D.C.

At the University of Cincinnati in Ohio, Dr. Khera practiced trauma and more during his orthopedic surgery residency. Dr. Khera then trained in both the conservative and surgical management of spinal disorders during his fellowship with the department of orthopedic surgery at University of Rochester in New York. Throughout his academic training, Dr. Khera was active in research studies that he presented at orthopedic conferences.

Dr. Khera enjoys the arts of food, music and movies. He considers himself an avid racer, competing on the national level with a competition race license from the National Auto Sport Association.
