About Me
Anil Chhabra, MD, FACC, FACP, is a cardiologist at Pierremont Cardiology who welcomes patients with various cardiovascular conditions. His areas of expertise include interventional cardiology and peripheral artery disease. Dr. Chhabra was one of the area’s first doctors to offer coronary stenting and angioplasty. Another heart procedure in which he also specializes is carotid stenting for patients at high risk for surgery.
Dr. Chhabra’s patients benefit from a better understanding of their diagnosis and possible treatment outcomes. With an eye on patient centered care, Dr. Chhabra spends time with his patients and listens closely to find the right treatment for each individual. According to his care philosophy, Dr. Chhabra allows patients to ask important questions and he listens closely to their needs so he can help them make informed decisions that align with their life goals.
Originally from India, Dr. Chhabra graduated from Christian Medical College in Ludhiana in 1975. His internship and internal medicine residency were at the University of Tennessee at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. He developed an interest in cardiology and was accepted for a cardiology fellowship with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio.
Dr. Chhabra is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP).
Away from the clinic, Dr. Chhabra enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Neera Chhabra, a pediatrician at WK Center for Pediatrics South.
