About Me
Charles G. Otu-Nyarko, MD, is a pediatric gastroenterologist. He provides help for children from birth to late teens and young adults who have abdominal pain. Pain in the abdomen signals issues in the GI tract, from a child’s throat to their stomach to their many digestive organs. Dr. Otu-Nyarko has a strong interest in endoscopic therapies for the biliary system - pancreas, bile ducts, gallbladder and associated structures.
Originally from Ghana, Dr. Otu-Nyarko graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He completed medical internships for primary medicine and surgery at Ghana’s Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. After some training in London, his decision to pursue pediatrics landed Dr. Otu-Nyarko at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago for a pediatric residency. Dr. Otu-Nyarko then completed specialty training with a pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at LSUHSC-New Orleans School of Medicine. After practicing in Shreveport for six years, Dr. Otu-Nyarko did an advanced therapeutic endoscopy fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.
He is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Dr. Otu-Nyarko is a family man. He enjoys spending quality time with his wife and children. He craves the opportunity to be engaged and to see them thrive. He also loves to serve the community in different capacities either at his local church or through different local and extended serving organizations. He travels to participate in health service delivery internationally.
During his free time, he plays some golf, rides bikes and gardens. He loves music and is an avid bass guitarist.
Dr. Otu-Nyarko speaks English, Spanish and French.
