About Me
Christian Briery, MD, treats patients like his own family as he provides relief to pregnant mothers with health complications. He is pleased to diagnose and treat everything from diabetes, hypertension and thyroid disease during pregnancy. Providing essential medical care to mothers fosters a healthier environment for babies to grow and develop. He also enjoys monitoring the health of children in the womb, diagnosing prenatal fetal problems if they arise.
A Louisiana native, Dr. Briery graduated with honors from Louisiana Tech University, then obtained his medical doctorate at LSU Health Science Center-Shreveport. During his residency also at LSUHSC-S, Dr. Briery developed an interest in complicated pregnancies. He completed a fellowship in maternal fetal medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, where he was awarded a master's degree in maternal fetal medicine.
After completing his fellowship training in 2006, Dr. Briery joined the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga as an assistant professor and was in private practice. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in maternal-fetal medicine. In 2009, Dr. Briery returned to Shreveport and established Regional Perinatal Group.
Dr. Briery has published book chapters and numerous articles in multiple medical journals, as well as presented material at the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine International Medical Conference.
He is happily married and is a proud father of three beautiful daughters. Away from the clinic, Dr. Briery likes to spend time with his family, play guitar, run and watch LSU Tigers or New Orleans Saints football.
