About Me
Iqbal Singh, MD, MBChB, MRCP, FACC, FASNC, is a cardiologist at Pierremont Cardiology who welcomes patients with cardiovascular disease to correct issues that affect lifestyle and longevity. He has a particular interest in valvular heart disease, congestive heart failure, lipid disorders, arrhythmias and preventive cardiology.
With a care philosophy to make himself available to patients, Dr. Singh values direct patient interaction and assistance. He treats patients the way he would like to be treated, helping patients better understand their diagnosis and possible treatment outcomes.
Dr. Singh graduated medical school and completed his early training in Scotland at Dundee University. He was awarded full membership in the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) of the United Kingdom. Dr. Singh pursued training with an internal medicine residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His interest in cardiology led to that fellowship training at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was chief fellow in his final year. Dr. Singh embarked on an additional fellowship in clinical electrophysiology and was an assistant professor with Vanderbilt’s division of cardiology medicine. Dr. Singh also served as director of ambulatory cardiology at Nashville Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
After his training, Dr. Singh began private cardiology practice in Shreveport in 2002. His cardiology services include noninvasive cardiology, with advanced expertise in echocardiography. Dr. Singh is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and nuclear cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and a fellow of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (FASNC). He is a member of the American Society of Echocardiography and the American Heart Association.
Away from the clinic, Dr. Singh enjoys spending time with his family. His wife is Mirjana, and they have two daughters, Elizabeth and Sophia.
