About Me

John Ferrell, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon (American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery) at The Orthopaedic Clinic in Shreveport. He previously served pediatric patients at Shriners Hospital for Children in Shreveport and was an associate clinical professor at LSUHSC-Shreveport School of Medicine. He was a partner at Mid South Orthopedics & Sports Medicine before he joined The Orthopaedic Clinic.   

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, Dr. Ferrell went on to graduate from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. His internship and residency were at Georgia Baptist Scottish Rite in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Ferrell was a team physician for the U.S. Olympic swim team.  

He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. His memberships include Shreveport Medical Society, Louisiana State Medical Society and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
