About Me

Kevin Gallagher, MD, is a hematologist and medical oncologist who works with cancer patients at Willis-Knighton Cancer Center’s Hematology/Oncology Associates.

As a hematologist, Dr. Gallagher specializes in the treatment of blood disorders like anemia and rare bone marrow diseases.

As an oncologist, his clinical interests are aerodigestive cancers (lung, liver, stomach, pancreas, intestines, anus, rectum) and genitourinary cancers (kidney, bladder, prostate).

Dr. Gallagher’s strengths are communication and compassionate care as he works with adult patients to create a comprehensive plan for long-term success.

He earned his medical degree at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-Shreveport School of Medicine. His internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at the same location allowed him to build connections and become involved on several committees related to his medical specialty. Dr. Gallagher holds certifications in internal medicine, hematology and oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is very active in clinical research as a study principal investigator and with many published articles and presentations. He is a member of Louisiana Oncology Society.

Outside of work, Dr. Gallagher enjoys hiking outdoors and spending time with his wife and sons.
