About Me
Lane Rosen, MD, is a board-certified radiation oncologist and medical director of Radiation Oncology, Proton Therapy and Nuclear Oncology at Willis Knighton Health.
He has led the department since 1997 and has overseen its transformation into an international leader in advanced cancer care technology.
Dr. Rosen attended LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport with residency training in radiation oncology at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C., where he served as chief resident.
With the support of his excellent team at Willis Knighton, the department has pioneered and adopted several radiotherapy advancements.
Dr. Rosen was the first physician worldwide to deliver Tomotherapy-based body radiosurgery, as well as image-guided scanning proton therapy on a compact proton unit.
He practices full-time at Willis Knighton Cancer Center but has served as an assistant professor of internal medicine, gynecology and radiology at LSU Medical School in Shreveport and as an adjunct instructor of radiation oncology at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans.
In his busy medical practice, Dr. Rosen subspecializes in gynecologic, breast and prostate cancers with extensive experience in HDR brachytherapy. He and his group have welcomed national and international visitors for training and interest in proton therapy, helical Tomotherapy, brachytherapy and the developing field of Theranostics.
In the community, he is an active board member of the Noel Foundation and The LSUS Foundation, and he is a founding board member of the Caddo-Bossier Cancer Foundation League. He also serves as the physician champion of the Willis Knighton affiliation with the Mayo Clinic Care Network.
He is married to Maurie Patterson, MD, and they have three children, all in the medical or dental fields.
