About Me

Milan G. Mody, MD, practices spinal and orthopedic surgery at The Orthopaedic Clinic in Shreveport. Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Mody specializes in spine surgeries. Some of his patients have sports injuries, as he provides spine care for local athletes. His patient roster has included the Mudbugs hockey and Shreveport Battlewings football teams, Calvary Baptist Academy football, and other local school teams. Beyond Shreveport-Bossier City, Dr. Mody has provided spine and sports care for the Houston Texans, Houston Rockets and Rice University Owls.  

Originally from Pennsylvania, Dr. Mody graduated from Drexel University with double majors in economics and management and double minors in biology and psychology. After his bachelor’s education, he graduated from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Clinical training for Dr. Mody included a five-year residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He went on to specialize in spine with an orthopedic and neurosurgery spine fellowship at University of Texas and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Dr. Mody is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.  

In addition to his work in the clinic and out on the field, Dr. Mody contributes to academia. He has co-authored many articles in peer-reviewed journals and he presents at regional, national and international conferences. Dr. Mody has taught techniques to spinal orthopedic surgeons from many countries across Europe, Southeast Asia, South America, Australia, Mexico and the United States. 

Dr. Mody and his wife have two children and two dogs. When not working with patients, he enjoys travel and water sports with his family, cooking, photography and film.
