About Me
Dr. Peter Boggs, FACP, FACAAI, FAAAAI, FCCP, has cared for thousands of people with allergy and asthma in the Ark-La-Tex, beginning in 1969, and is pleased to reopen The Allergy & Asthma Clinic and Research Center, with offices in Bossier City and Shreveport.
A graduate of the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, Dr. Boggs completed Allergy & Immunology training and a fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, under “The Chief”, the legendary John P. McGovern, M.D. Dr. Boggs began his practice in Shreveport with Albert L. Stephens, Jr. M.D.
Over the years Dr. Boggs has served his specialty as President of the American College of Allergists. He pioneered the use of exhaled nitric oxide in asthma, the application of system thinking and system dynamics in asthma care, and designed the Board Review course for the specialty that remains an integral part of the education of allergists. For these and other efforts, Dr. Boggs was honored with The Gold Cane Award by The American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology in 2014. This is awarded annually to one physician for outstanding personal and professional achievement.
Among Dr. Boggs’ special interest are nasal allergy, asthma, food allergy, eosinophilic esophagitis, atopic dermatitis, and all forms of urticaria and angioedema. He works diligently to meet the needs of each person who seeks his help. Dr. Boggs welcomes new and all former patients.
