About Me

T. Ryan Palmer, MD, works one-on-one with patients who have gastrointestinal needs so they can be free of symptoms and disease and get back to their normal lives. As a general gastroenterologist, his focus is the stomach, small intestine, large intestine (colon) and their workings with other organs of the digestive system. The services Dr. Palmer provides include upper- and lower-endoscopy, colonoscopy, polyp removal, and treatment for GERD, peptic ulcers, IBS, IBD and more. He specializes in removal of complex colon polyps, nutrition and weight loss.

A Shreveport native, he graduated from Caddo Parish Magnet High School, LSUS and LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport School of Medicine. After an internship at University of Arkansas School of Medicine, Dr. Palmer returned to Shreveport for his fellowship at LSUHSC-S. He worked in private practice locally, served our veterans at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport and trained other gastroenterologists as an associate professor at LSUHSC-S. Dr. Palmer is board certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Married and the father of three sons, Dr. Palmer likes to hunt and fish when he’s away from the clinic.
