About Me

Taeyoung Choi, MD, is an abdominal transplant surgeon with advanced expertise in liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation, as well as robotic donor nephrectomy, a minimally invasive procedure that uses robotic assistance to remove a kidney from a living donor. His clinical practice also includes complex surgeries involving the liver, pancreas, gallbladder and bile ducts. Dr. Choi is board certified in general surgery (American Board of Surgery).

Originally trained as a general surgeon in South Korea, Dr. Choi came to the United States to expand his surgical skills. He completed an additional general surgery residency in Dayton, Ohio. During a pivotal rotation at University Hospitals in Cleveland, he was drawn to the complexity, precision and life-saving impact of transplant surgery – a passion that has defined his career. Driven by the profound satisfaction of restoring health to critically ill patients, Dr. Choi is committed to delivering cutting-edge, compassionate surgical care.
