About Me

Virginia H. Carter, MD, brings her compassion and heart for service as she assists children with healthcare needs at WK Pediatric Health & Wellness. She practices general pediatrics at a clinic that sees patients from Shreveport-Bossier City and beyond. Dr. Carter is certified in pediatrics (American Board of Pediatrics) and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP).

A Shreveport native, Dr. Carter is a graduate of C.E. Byrd High School. She attended college at University of Arkansas and returned home to attend LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport School of Medicine. After an internship and a pediatric residency at University of Mississippi Medical Center Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children in Jackson, Dr. Carter once again returned home to Shreveport to begin her practice.

Dr. Carter is happily married to Trey and they have two wonderful children. Motherhood allows Dr. Carter to relate her personal experiences with children to her practice and she understands the importance of parental involvement. Managing the physical, behavioral and mental health of children is the focus of Dr. Carter’s work. Caring for children as they mature throughout the stages of life is her reward.
