Johnathan C. Baines, MD

Johnathan C. Baines, MD, specializes in family medicine and treats patients of all ages at Willis Knighton Primary Care in Ruston on Mississippi Avenue. He enjoys focusing on preventive measures and treats multiple conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hypothyroidism and others.

The Shreveport native said he has always loved biology and wanted to use that knowledge to serve others in a caretaking role. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and a Master of Science degree in biology at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston. He earned a Doctor of Medicine degree at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport and completed his residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Tyler.

He and his wife, Anna, have three children — Elena, Caed and Jace. The entire family participates in Ruston Community Theatre and performs at the historic Dixie Center for the Arts. Dr. Baines also enjoys the production side, working behind the scenes with staging and props.
