About Me

Magy Eskander, MD, is an ophthalmologist with Willis Knighton Eye Institute who has a lifelong connection to Shreveport and Willis Knighton Health.

Born in Luxor, Egypt, Dr. Eskander and her family immigrated to Shreveport in 1996. Her family’s connection to Willis Knighton began when her uncle sponsored their move to the United States, and her father has worked with Willis Knighton since that time.

Dr. Eskander grew up in Shreveport, attended Centenary College, where she earned a degree in biochemistry with a minor in physics, and went on to graduate from LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas in Houston in 2017.

Her passion for ophthalmology began early, inspired by her aunt, an ophthalmologist in Egypt. Today, Dr. Eskander enjoys cataract surgery as well as helping patients manage conditions such as glaucoma and macular degeneration.

For Dr. Eskander, caring for patients means more than following a standard treatment plan. She takes the time to understand each patient as an individual and considers their lifestyle when developing a treatment approach — all with the goal of preserving healthy vision for a lifetime.
