Paul W. Byrd, NP

Nurse practitioner Paul W. Byrd was inspired to choose healthcare as a career after “watching my mother battle cancer and feeling like I needed to understand and be able to do more to help.” He specializes in neonatology and works in the NICU at Willis Knighton South.

A native of Many, Louisiana, he attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in General Studies in 1983 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1994. He also earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing at the University of South Alabama in Mobile in 2010. 

He is married and has three children. In his spare time, he enjoys listening to music and spending time at his camp. He is also looking forward to the days when he can “actually travel instead of talking about it.”
