About Me
For family nurse practitioner Shelly Gerlach, FNP-C, PMHNP, being a nurse runs in her blood.
“Both my mother and grandmother were nurses, and their compassion, dedication and commitment to helping others inspired me from an early age,” says Gerlach, a native of Ringgold. “Watching the positive impact they made on their patients and communities motivated me to pursue a career where I could make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.”
Today she provides comprehensive care across the lifespan, diagnosing and treating a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions alongside Gregory Bell, MD, in Coushatta. Her clinical experience includes management of hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, respiratory illnesses, infections, musculoskeletal injuries, preventive care, women's health concerns and wellness promotion.
Gerlach earned Associate, Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Nursing at Northwestern State University in Shreveport and a post-master certificate (Psychiatric Mental Health) at Herzing University.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She has a passion for gardening, home improvement projects and restoring antique furniture.
