About Me

Sonya Edelen, MSN, APRN, ACNPC-AG, is a dedicated nurse practitioner who specializes in cardiology and has worked for 24 years alongside Iqbal Singh, MD, at Willis Knighton Pierremont Cardiology.

She chose healthcare as a career because she wanted to make a difference in the lives and care of others.

A native of Zachary, Louisiana, who now lives in Stonewall, Edelen earned an Associate of Science degree in Nursing at Northwestern State University in Shreveport. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and a Master of Science in Nursing degree at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a post-master certification (Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner) at Northwestern State University in Shreveport. She is certified by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.

Spending time with family and friends making memories tops Edelen’s list of things she enjoys in her free time. She also enjoys traveling, reading, shopping, singing worship music and serving others with her church family.
