About Me
Diego Miranda, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic hand and microsurgeon at Bossier Orthopedics. He uses advanced techniques to relieve pain and correct the function of upper and lower extremities, up to and including complex trauma of the hand, wrist and elbow. Procedures include treatment of complex fractures and dislocations of the whole upper limb, surgical and nonsurgical arthritis treatment, minimally invasive carpal and cubital tunnel release, mini-incision carpal tunnel release, small joint replacement of the hand, and total wrist replacement, just to name a few.
As part of Bossier Orthopedics, Dr. Miranda engages in the comprehensive treatment of pediatric trauma and sports injuries of the hand and upper limb. A lifelong rugby athlete who is fluent in Spanish, Dr. Miranda communicates effectively with many demographics in lay-person language so they understand the treatment needed to repair their injuries.
A native of Argentina, Dr. Miranda received his medical degree at Universidad del Salvador and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Navy Hospital in Buenos Aires. Privileged to work with world-recognized hand surgeon Dr. Eduardo A. Zancolli, Dr. Miranda developed his interest in hand, wrist and elbow surgery. He then received specialized training from a U.S. pioneer in hand surgery, Dr. Harold Kleinert, during his fellowship training at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery in Louisville, Kentucky. His training and work with global experts in hand surgery drives Dr. Miranda’s special interest in total wrist replacement to help orthopedic patients of all ages achieve their personal goals.
When not treating athletes on the field or in the clinic, Dr. Miranda enjoys watching his sons compete in different sports, including basketball, cross-country, and soccer. He enjoys snow sports with his family and friends every winter. He also spends time volunteering as an official USA Boxing ringside physician, as he is a vivid fan of combat sports and mixed martial arts.
