Dr. Vikram "Vik" Chatrath, MD
Following medical training in his native India, where he received numerous awards for his academic performance, Dr. Chatrath moved to Canada to work with pioneering surgeons there in the fields of trauma surgery and joint replacement. He focuses on providing his patients with advanced precision techniques in orthopedics, assuring that surgeries are custom-planned for each patient.
Working in academia earlier in his career, Dr. Chatrath has authored book chapters, research papers and helped to teach residents in training.
His philosophy of care focuses on treating patients as he would his own family members. He takes times with each patient to assure that they fully understand their options and that they know what to expect from procedures.
While he treats patients of all ages, including children, he has unique expertise in treating senior patients who require hip, knee and shoulder care or joint replacement. Many of the leading edge procedures he offers allow patients to recover quickly and enjoy a normal life again.
During hours outside the clinic, Dr. Chatrath enjoys spending time with his family, reading and cycling. He feels that his experience with his own young children allows him to relate well to younger patients and their parents.
