About Me
Following medical training in his native India where he received numerous awards for his academic performance, Vikram “Vik” Chatrath, MD, moved to Canada to work with pioneering surgeons in the fields of trauma surgery and joint replacement. His academic work early in his career included authorship of book chapters and research papers, and also teaching residents who were in training. He is board certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. At Willis-Knighton, Dr. Chatrath serves as the Medical Director of the Joint Replacement Program.
At Bossier Orthopedics, Dr. Chatrath today provides his patients with advanced precision techniques in orthopedics, assuring that surgeries are custom planned for each patient.
His philosophy of care focuses on treating patients as he would his own family members. He takes time with each patient to assure that they fully understand their options and that they know what to expect from procedures.
While he treats patients of all ages, including children, Dr. Chatrath has unique expertise in treating senior adults who require hip, knee and shoulder care or joint replacement. Many procedures that he offers allow patients to recover quickly and enjoy a normal life again.
During hours outside the clinic, Dr. Chatrath enjoys spending time with his family, reading and cycling. He feels that his experience with his own young children allows him to relate well to younger patients and their parents.
